Introducing Upchuckr Dot Com

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I am now ready to let everyone know about the next big thing. I launched our new Social Bookmarking site today. I decided to name it Upchuckr.com. I would have preferred upchucker.com but all the good domains are all parked. That is one thing that really pisses me off!. Any how off the bat what makes this site different is that it is DoFollow, meaning that each bookmark that you add will count as a backlink in Google’s eyes.

The Site was created using the Scuttle Script. It is basically a open source version of Del.icio.us. You can export all of your existing bookmarks into an .XML file and import them into Upchuckr. To import bookmarks from your del.icio.us account, go to http://del.icio.us/api/posts/all, log in using your del.icio.us user-name and password, and save the XML file to your computer. Thus all of your bookmarks will not be Do-Follow. Once you register at Upchuckr.com you can also Export your bookmarks to save them or insert them to Del.

You can add bookmarks the same way as with Del either by going directly to the site or using the FireFox plug-in. To use the FireFox plug-in with Upchuckr.com you will need to first download it here . After you have downloaded the plug-in firefox will need to be restarted. As soon as it comes back up goto

Tools -> add_on’s –> scuttle –> options –> then you will add www.Upchuckr.com .

To Save the pages to Upchuckr.com Right click on the page that you will want saved and select ” Scuttle this page”.

You can also Added pages using Bookmarklets.  To use this feature you must login to your account - > select Add a bookmark –> On that page you will find ” bookmarklets “  –> Drag and drop the bookmarklets to your Firefox toolbar  –>  And thats it!.

Upchuckr.com allows you to specify one of three types of security settings for each bookmark in your collection — public, private, or “shared with watch-list.” Public bookmarks are available to anyone, including guests that are not registered with Scuttle. If you set a bookmark status to shared with watchlist, it will be available to registered users, but not to unauthorized users. Finally, private bookmarks are available only to you. Each security setting has its own color code, which makes it easy to identify a bookmark’s status.

Like del.icio.us, Upchuckr exports RSS feeds, so you can keep an eye on other users’ public bookmarks. However,Upchuckr takes the idea of sharing bookmarks even further. Using the Watchlist feature, users can view each other’s public bookmark listings, and add interesting bookmarks in the watchlist to your own bookmark collection by simply clicking on the Copy link. To add a user to your watchlist, point the browser to http://www.upchuckr.com/bookmarks.php/username, where username is the user’s Upchuckr name, then click on the Add to Watchlist link on the sidebar.

Upchuckr has several other features you won’t find in del.icio.us. All tags in Upchuckr are presented as a tag cloud, making it easier to locate the most popular tags. The tags can be sorted either alphabetically or by popularity. The same goes for bookmarks: you can sort them by date, title, or URL.

Upchuckr also supports the related tags feature that allows you to view bookmarks with multiple tags. And when you add a bookmark containing a link to an audio file in MP3 or Ogg format, Upchuckr places a tiny player icon next to it, and you can play the file without leaving Upchuckr.

As you can see the site is pretty much bare at the moment, not many bookmarks yet, no ads, But not to worry you will hear and see alot more of This site very much in the near future!.

Again the site can be found at WWW.UPCHUCKR.COM

Merry Post Chirstmas everyone

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas yesterday, I know that I did and spend a boat load of money at the same-time!.

During my two days of rest I searched my brain for more ideas of websites to create. I decided to start a social bookmarking site. The reason for this is because they are so popular and helpful and always in demand. I already registered the domain name for it and got hosting how every I will not announce it until it goes live. Nothing is worse then an under construction sign.

Knowing how I am you know that all links on this site are going to be DO-Follow. I do not believe in that no follow Crap!. So Stay tuned here on this blog for further updates and news on the progress.

Astawerks Joins Review Me

Yesterday I took the plunge and decided to sign up with a review site oddly enough called review me. For those of you that do not already know about Reviewme.com its simple. You as an advertiser search the market place for for blogs using keywords of your product that you are looking to promote. Once you find a match for what you are looking for, you then select the blog and create an assignment for the blogger. For example your company makes flash websites, you will create an assignment for the blogger to write a review about your flash websites.

Once the assignment is complete the blogger will check in with you and then get paid. Each blogger can set their own price of their review service. Here at Astawerks.net we charge $80 per review but there are other bloggers who charge up to $500. Now blogers before you panic you can write anything that you want about the product. Its not have to be all positive, you can slam the product worse then a new Britney Spears album. The blogger will still get paid. In the end the product will still get a backlink from your blog which means G**GLE Juice.

I really like what this program has to offer being that at times I completely suffer from writers block. This will feed me idea’s and wake up my creativity like when I was 19 and in college getting high every night!. I have been a musician and artist for a long time in my life and the creative part is there, it just needs to be waken up!. For God sake I write with my left hand!.

So Advertisers and bloggers this is something that you might want to look into. For more info and to sign up at Get Reviewed At ReviewMe! or if you would like to be reviewed by me right here on this blog just click on the Reviewme Icon to the right of here. Hope to speak so and don’t forget to subscribe to this Blog Via RSS to keep up with the new here At Astawerks.net as well as our Digg service and articles that need your Digg’s!.

Time for the Happy Holiday Sayings again.

I am going to switch gears now and rant on a subject that pisses me off  each year around this time.   It is how everyone has to be politically correct and say happy holidays instead of  merry Christmas or happy hanukkah  or even happy kwanzaa.  I am Jewish and now I am a born again Christian and I never had a problem with Christmas, either did my family.   It seems in the past three or four years it has gotten very bad.

Corporate A-holes are spreading this garbage.  Basically what they are trying to do is take Christ out of Christmas and its getting ridiculous already.   Just the other day I was drinking a can of coke and took a look at a picture of Jolly ol’ Saint Nick on the can and there it is.  A BIG OL HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2007.  Now correct me if I am wrong  but didn’t it say  Christmas  2006 on Coke cans last year?   Same thing with office parties when I used to work for the man we would have a Christmas party each year.  Now its a Holiday party and there are no more Halloween parties that is now called a Autumn Party or Fall Party.

Now when did all of this start?  probably the past 5 years I think don’t get me wrong.   It just gets worse each year for all things.  Everyone is afraid to not be politically correct,  well I can care less I call everything as I see it and you can ask anyone who knows me that I am not afraid to say whats on my mind.
