Digg changes - Some Good and some bad

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

If you are a regular user of Digg.com like myself you might have noticed that they have made a few changes in the past few weeks.  I will start out with the bad ones first.

Its the Algorithm.  I really hate it!.   I remember way back when it took only 70-80 Diggs to get a story popular.  With this new Algo it takes 150-160!.  It works like this  if a stranger Digg’s your story it holds more weight then if a friend does.  1 stranger is equal to 10 I think I read that somewhere.  So basically if only your friends Digg your stuff you are going to be there for a while.  I used to be able to get a story popular 2 or 3 times a day.  Now I’m struggling for  2-3 times a week,  I really do wish that they would put it back the way that it was.

Ok now the better part of Digg.    Well  it seems like their site is moving Alot faster now,  Shouts are sent quicker and the site loads up quicker.   Maybe they got new hardware?  Or maybe people are just abandoning Digg?

Finally here is my favorite new feature of Digg;   They removed their stupid  20 shout limit,  now you can shout up to  200 friends at one time. Of course you have a wait a few minutes until you can shout to more but who cares!.  I’d rather take 10 minutes to shout 400 people then  1 1/2 hours to shout all of my friends.

I still wish that I can break away from digg but its so Darn addictive!.   They really knew what they were doing when they created that site.

The Digg Book is here!

I decided to write an E-book describing my success on Digg.com and how every article that I submit has become popular.  I was planning on keeping this a secret but the quality on Digg is going down and things really need to change.  This book will show you the techniques that I use to be a success on Digg.com.  The Book is going for  $30 but the return will outweigh that in the long run.

The front page of Digg feels so good when its your site!

As many of you know already that I am a a master digger :) So far in the past 2 weeks I submitted 20 articles an 17 Made it the front page. Today I wrote a pretty good article and submitted it to Digg. And I am happy to say that it made it to the front and the traffic is SWEET!. Its a Saturday night and I am getting what appears to be 2000 visits per hour if not more. I installed site meter just a few hours before it hit the page. Site meter show stats in real time which is great, I am constantly refreshing the page and watching the numbers climb.

Here is a screen shot of the traffic

hits

And here is one more

more traffic stats

The above shots were taken 1 hour into the peak of it. I will post more tomorrow.

You can read my article at my other blog by clicking on this link here http://voipstash.com/blog/2008/01/05/linux-phone-to-debut-upgrade-at-ces-google-android-looking-stupid/

I can’t wait to see how much Adsense revenue I will make from this special night!. I have discussed with my boy Justin about writing an e-book which I will document my methods of becoming successful using Digg.com. I will post and sell here on this blog when complete. It is not very hard to all to become a success on Digg. Just hard-work and common sense.
